ERO Emergency Response Officer Course – English BHV Training

Become a Certified Emergency Response Officer in One Day

Join the ERO course at NedCert Experts in the Netherlands, Belgium, or Suriname and become a certified Emergency Response Officer in one day.

In 8 hours you learn everything you need: from alerting and evacuating to resuscitation with an AED and firefighting.

The training meets the NedCert standard and is directly applicable in the workplace.

Participants practice bandage application during an ERO course by NedCert Experts, a key first aid skill for emergency response officers in international workplaces.

Here's what you will learn during your ERO course day

During the ERO course, you’ll learn how to protect yourself with the right personal protective equipment.

You’ll practise using gloves, high-visibility vests, and helmets, and learn when each type of protection is needed.

We also explain why these protective measures are sometimes legally required and how you, as a ERO officer, remain recognisable to colleagues during emergencies.

You’ll get hands-on training in essential first aid, learning how to treat wounds, recognise symptoms, and decide who needs help first.

Plus, you’ll work with an AED to perform resuscitation – a life-saving skill explained clearly and ready to use when it counts.

With a trauma kit in hand, you’ll learn how to stop severe bleeding, whether it’s by applying a tourniquet or using haemostatic dressings.

Thanks to NedCert’s ‘Stop the Bleed’ campaign, launched in 2015, you’ll understand why acting fast is critical – a simple step with a huge impact.

You’ll learn to tackle a starting fire using various extinguishing agents suited to different types of fires.

You’ll practise with water, carbon dioxide, foam, and learn which extinguisher to use for each fire type.

You’ll also train with fire blankets and learn to safely assess when extinguishing is feasible or when evacuation is the better option.

When accidents happen, you’ll learn to quickly assess the situation, reduce risks, and assist casualties until professionals arrive.

With our practical approach, you’ll stay calm and effective, keeping damage to a minimum and knowing just what to do.

You’ll find out how to lead an evacuation smoothly, using clear procedures and tools like two-way radios.

It’s all about speed and structure: you’ll warn others and get everyone to safety without fuss or panic.

In a realistic drill, you’ll put everything you’ve learned into practice.

It’s your chance to test your response and sharpen your skills – an experience that builds confidence for real emergencies.

You’ll learn to communicate quickly and clearly in a crisis, whether it’s by phone or radio.

We’ll guide you on what to tell emergency services and when to call them – short, sharp, and exactly what’s needed.
